A dental crown is recommended based on the extent and type of damage caused to the tooth. It is a restorative dentistry procedure. A decayed, cracked, broken, worn out tooth sometimes needs a dental crown. It is placed over a root canal filling, over a dental implant or on discolored teeth. Crowns have come in various types befitting the needs and aesthetics. We recommend stainless steel, precious metal and porcelain crowns depending upon the oral needs of the patients. A porcelain crown provides excellent aesthetics. We, in general, opt it for distorted and damaged front teeth. We utilize the CAD/CAM technology while tailoring these crowns. Precious metal crowns don't break or chip off easily. Though it is the least expensive type to afford, metals like gold, silver, nickel, and cobalt are utilized. Not suggested for front teeth. Stainless steel crowns are mostly used in children crowns, whilst their permanent dentition is being developed. The crowns we provide last for years and are biocompatible. Getting a crown needs a prior assessment through x rays, taking an impression and casting crowns in steps, all through which we see that the patient is comfortable.
